Surreal

This picture was taken five years ago after “I Am Broken” premiered at the Tulip Festival Concert at Bethany Covenant Church. It was a surreal night. Instead of holding all my trauma inside and continuing to keep it all a secret, I put myself out there big-time. Here’s the thing. I’m not the only one […]

Jelly-Belly Hangover

I should be outside admiring my pretty flowers in the sunshine instead of slipping into a Jelly-Belly hangover nap on this fine Sunday afternoon.

Hiccup

Ran into a little hiccup planting my commemorative tree. But, Ken and I persevered and got it in the ground. Now to sit back and enjoy watching my long-coveted Alaska cedar (“Weeping Alaskan Blue Cedar” according to the tag) grow as I celebrate another 15 years of being cancer-free.

Weeping Alaska Cedar

So, about that Alaska cedar I mentioned in my last post: it is now sitting in a wheelbarrow in my back yard, waiting for me. Guess I better start digging.

Hiking Goals

That glorious moment when you think you are going to just end up cleaning house on your day off from teaching piano lessons and instead you go on a 19,000-step hike up the side of a mountain with two pretty cool guys and a) you make it to the tippy-top without having a heart-attack, and […]

The Joy of Teaching

I talked about “loving who you teach” a few posts ago. The wonderful thing is, my piano students love me right back. How cool is that? This cutie’s middle name is “Joy,” and that describes her to a T. Her face lights up every time she walks through my door for her lesson. Not only […]

Stretchy Pants

February 25: Celebrated the release of “Peace” with Katie Lynch at Coconut Kenny’s… big box of Milk Duds for dessert. February 28: Celebrated the release of the “Redeemed” official lyric video with Ken at Taste of Thai with mango sticky rice AND ice cream for dessert. Before I go and celebrate the release of “Redeemed” […]
