I started writing this song February 25, 2010: just some pretty piano music. I was trying to show a student how to do composition. She wasn’t interested.
Fourteen years later, here I am.
Katie sings this song so beautifully. She’s the friend that wrote the bridge for the song “Peace” that I just released on February 12.
Elijah—I’ve talked about him before—came over one Friday night and sang some harmonies in verse 3, verse 4, bridge 2, and the chorus.
Then, there’s little old me. I forced myself to sing harmonies and rather than have the producer delete my tracks, I made him bump me up. 😉 I’ve talked about this hesitation to sing my own songs ad nauseum in this blog, especially in the “Climb Every Mountain” post.
