Spent all morning with this guy: I’ve talked about him before. He is my mentor, and not just because he has more musical talent in one pinky than I’ll ever have in my whole body if I practiced piano 12 hours a day.
He is my mentor because he is always so encouraging and never makes me feel stupid for asking incessant questions: “What chord would that be?” “Would that be eighth-note triplets or sixteenth-note triplets?”
Today, he helped me get some music “publisher-ready” because I had a worship leader in Ontario, Canada ask me for the sheet music to “Peace” and “Redeemed” and I couldn’t very well tell him that it’s half finished because I play a lot of my notes in the recording studio from the hip.
