Sumac

I have about four or five different varieties of sumac in my yard.

The original tree (that introduced me to the sumac family) was over $70 and grew incredibly fast. I loved it. Then it died. 

Before it bit it, I had dug up a sucker and given it to my Uncle John. He loved that tree. When he was getting ready to move, he dug it up and put it in a pot, and then gave it to me for safekeeping as he was going on a long road trip.

When he returned, he told me he was dying of lung cancer. I was devastated. He died within eight months. 😭

I still have that tree, now planted into my ground. I admire it often and am trying my darndest not to let this one die.

So, I got part of my original tree back, but I’d rather have Uncle John.
