Two weeks ago, I was teaching piano to a cute little girl. She stops halfway through the lesson, “I really like your song, Sunshine.”
“Thanks, Betsy. That’s really nice of you to say.”
“My mom showed it to me. It’s happy.”
“Yes, yes, it is.”
I said to her, “You sure are happy today.” (A few months back, she was a little miss grumpypants and would barely speak to me. “How old are you, Betsy?” She replied, “ZERO.”
) I asked her, “How come you’re so happy?”
“Well, on Sunday, I decided to be happy for the rest of my life.”
“You’re going to be happy for the rest of your life? Good for you, Betsy.”
“Yes. I’m going to be happy for the rest of my life because I have Jesus.”
