This morning, I thought I would “pick up a few catkins” (seed pods, at least I think that’s what they’re called…I tried Googling it and went down a 10-minute rabbit hole ) from our cottonwood trees and put them in a bucket.
Five hours later, I’ve abandoned the bucket for the wheelbarrow and I’m digging up roots that are 3-5 feet long so that they don’t choke out my hydrangeas.
I think I lost two pounds from sweating so much.
Later, Ken tells me, “You know those will probably grow back, right?” When he saw the look on my face, he rushed to add, “But not in your lifetime.”
