Celebration of “Got My Life Back” Release

August 10, 2024

My song “Got My Life Back” was released today on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, YouTube, and a whole bunch of other platforms.

You know what that means. Here is how the husband and I celebrated:

A. Looked at freezers at Judd & Black because ours is tanking…the trouble started while we were in Yellowstone.

B. Bought a really pretty hydrangea at Orchard’s Nursery with my 30-percent-off coupon because fifty (51?) hydrangeas is just not enough. 😉

C. Got Ken some German chocolate cake at Camano Commons because he’s had a hankering for it for weeks.

D. Discovered Ixtapa Family Mexican Restaurant in Stanwood. It was so good (and unexpected). We couldn’t stop talking about it.

E. Had mango sticky rice (finally) at Taste of Thai. (Ken has turned me down for that so many times ha ha.)

F. Bought some Jelly Bellies at Fred Meyer.

G. I took a three-hour nap smack-dab in the middle of the day because, apparently, this little old lady had a little too much excitement today. 😂

About Marie de Haan

Marie is a gifted pianist, playing since the age of nine. As a teenager, she composed mainly instrumental piano music. She released her powerful debut single, “I Am Broken,” on October 22, 2020, a song whose creation drew heavily upon the trauma she endured as a victim of childhood sexual abuse. Marie held a benefit concert on September 10, 2021, in Skagit County. A portion of the proceeds went to CrossRoads Youth Ranch; this local organization—through equine therapy—empowers “at-risk and sexually exploited youth to heal, grow, and thrive.” She has continued to write music: Christian, folk, and country. Marie loves hiking, gardening, and photography. The Pacific Northwest—where she lives with her husband—is the backdrop for her favorite activities.
